As I was thinking about the guys that I wanted to add to this blog, I realized that many of them aren't technically "boys." This is because I tend to like older guys - men, if you will. But what age, exactly, is the cut off? Thirty? Forty? I think that it depends not only on age, but also on the guy. Here's an example: Victor Webster is 33 and Wentworth Miller is 34. However, I call Wentworth Miller a boy all the time (i.e., "God, that boy is beautiful"), but I wouldn't call Victor Webster a boy. He's a man. One term isn't better than the other. I love them both, but I think of them differently. What I can't figure out is: why? I think I really do put too much thought into these things.
Anyway, part of the reason that I'm wondering this is because today's "boy" is a man. A "verile horse of a man" actually. He's gorgeous, and talented, and not only as an actor. He paints, and for a while he thought about being a writer. Whether he's playing a heart patient, a drug dealer's dead husband, or a small town sheriff, I can't take my eyes off him. I also love his voice. He could be reading a cook book, and I'd still think it was sexy. And, as everyone who knows me knows, I was crushed when Denny died on
Grey's Anatomy. It turns out that I'm not the only one. Apparently, Jeffrey Dean Morgan loved Denny as much as I did. He was quoted as saying: "At this point, every day I walk in with my picket sign that says, 'Keep Denny alive'." Unfortunately, Shonda Rhimes didn't listen to him. I'll just have to be satisfied with watching season 2 on DVD, and hope that John doesn't get killed off
Supernatural in the season premiere. (Note: Apparently, I jinxed it. Sorry.)
UPDATE (Feb. 15, 2007): Oh my god, oh my god! Denny! That's right: Jeffrey Dean Morgan was back on television tonight. I nearly had a joy-induced heart attack. I cannot wait until next week's episode of Grey's Anatomy.
UPDATE 2 (Feb. 23, 2007): Joy=Denny being back on Grey's Anatomy-even if just for one episode (and like 30 seconds). I was on the verge of tears practically the whole episode, but it was the Izzie/Denny hallway moment right at the end that did me in. I cried my eyes out. He was back and now he's gone again, and I'm heart-broken all over again. However, there is one ray of sunshine on the horizon: sources say that JDM will also be returning to Supernatural this season. I don't know in what capacity or for how many episodes, but I don't care-I'll take whatever the TV gods have to offer.
