James McAvoy

I think there is something wonderfully endearing about a guy who says, "I'm 5 foot 7, and I've got pasty white skin. I don't think I'm ugly, don't get me wrong, but I'm not your classic lead man, Brad Pitt guy." Especially when he then goes on to star opposite Angelina Jolie (in this summer's action flick Wanted). Charming, talented, and oh-so adorable, James McAvoy is the best thing to come out of Scotland since Sean Connery. But while there is no doubt as to whether he can act (his roles in The Last King of Scotland and Atonement have definitely sealed the deal), there are still many naysayers out there when it comes to just how cute he is. Now, I'm not saying that everyone has to find him attractive, but I get a little offended when people seem shocked to hear him described as such. "Director Kevin Macdonald says that when he cast the actor as Idi Amin's personal physician in 2006's The Last King of Scotland, he was taken off guard a bit at his wife's gushy reaction. "She was like, 'Oooh, I just love him! He's so cute!'" the director recalls. "It's strange because from my point of view he's not exactly eye candy. But he has this quality that women really respond to."" (Feb. 2008 issue of W) With that adorable smile and sexy Scottish accent, you'd think that quality would be pretty obvious. But regardless of what anyone else thinks, I just can't get enough of him!
